I have never personally used a frequent flier mile program. I use an REI rewards card, but if you may be interested in points.com. It is a service that allows you to buy, sell, exchange, and redeem frequent flyer miles. With ticket prices increasing and many airlines charging fees for miles you may be interested in using them up or exchanging them for gift cards to your favorite store.
Exchange
Exchanging miles/points for miles with another airline allows you to consolidate your points.
Buy/Sell
Sell your unused miles for much needed or buy enough to get a ticket.
Redeem
Points.com allows you to redeem points for hotel stays or giftcards.
I’ve never used frequent flier miles, but this program seems like it could come in handy. I have however; heard that it is becoming harder to use miles so it maybe a good idea to use them while they are still usable.
